Our courts have got to do better than this!
I sit here in front of my computer writing this in disbelief that I'm in
America and this is actually happening. That we have a judical system
that punishes people for being good husbands. I'm probably going to end
up in jail over this, but I'm going to put up a good fight. I just hope
I'm not forgotten when this is all over.
Here's my complaint I filed on the judge who handled my divorce. When I called the Commission on Retirement, Removal, and Discipline, the lady who answered the phone for them was both very nice to me and helpful. I didn't expect that. It certianly was very different than my experiance complaining to the bar. However, and I hope I'm proven wrong, I don't expect these people to do squat. But, when you have a divorce judgement against you for more than 100% of everything you own, you do what you can.

Dear Commission,
I have numerous complaints as outlined in the enclosed documents and on my world wide web site /pbl/married/index.htm if you need more information.
To summarize, I've been in divorce court for the last two years and finally ended up with a judgement by Paul McGhee that is in excess of 100% of everything I own. This is rather steep for only being married for 5 years with no kids. However, when you read this judgement you'll see that this judge is incompetent and should not be serving on the bench. I showed this judgement to another judge and 4 lawyers who all just shook their heads in disbelief.
When you read the judgement it speaks for itself. It lists no reasoning for the decisions, puts no values on anything, and it's clear in the maintenance order that the judge admits that he doesn't know if the order for maintenance is legal.
As to the other judges, the enclosed documents outline my complaint about them. I want to eventually have a hearing where I can appear in person before you to fill in the details. I just at this time want to give you an impression of the horrors I'm going through dealing with the family court system here in Greene County and prepare a more formal complaint later when you indicate to me your truly interested in resolving this matter.
However, my situation now is that I have another hearing in front of Paul McGhee on September 30th and this guy is just not competent to be dealing with this case. I feel like I'm in real danger of losing everything and ending up in jail. Enclosed is my lawyers motion for new trial where he outlines what is wrong with this decision. My lawyer doesn't know I'm filing this complaint with you, I'm doing this on my own.
I know that I will never get a fair judgement and I've given up on even trying. What I want is a judgement that is at least possible. I don't want to end up in jail and I don't want to have my business destroyed and thrown out on the street. The judgement is so screwed up that I can't even get a clean bankruptcy out of it.
So, what I want you to do is to contact this judge and straighten him out and let me get this divorce behind me so that I can get on with my life. I am out of money and can't afford to appeal this case and spend the next two years fighting this and end of with another incompetent judge who screws this up even more.
I apologize for the tone of this letter, but I'm not a nice person. However, nasty people like me deserve justice too. All I'm asking is to get past this divorce. As long as this continues, I'm stuck in your court. And me being stuck in your court is like coming home and finding a skunk trapped in your house. You may be bigger than the skunk, but it's best to get the skunk out as quickly and carefully as possible. The skunk doesn't like it any more than you do.
I'm a skunk and I'm trapped in your court system. My tail is in the air and I'm ready to spray! I don't want to be there and you don't want me to be there either. I'm not asking you to do anything improper or trying to influence anyone in an unfair manner. All I want is a proper decision that is, if not fair, at least according to the law. The kind of decision that doesn't cause lawyers and other judges to shake their heads in disbelief.
I want to settle this and get on with my life, and I want you to make Judge Paul McGhee understand that if he's going to be a judge that he at least has to write a decision that makes sense. I want you to read his decision and read my lawyers motion for a new trial and if you agree with me and my lawyer that the decision is defective, I want you to instruct Judge McGhee to fix it.
